The Best 2-Player Games on This Site (One Keyboard, No Account)

Every game here was opened in a real browser before it was listed, and the two-player ones were played by two people at one keyboard. These are the ones worth the argument over who gets the arrow keys.

Football Legends

The reason the site exists. Choose 2 Players on the title screen; player one has the arrows with X to shoot and Z for the supershot, player two has WASD with L and K. Friendly lets you pick both teams and a 1v1 or 2v2 side; Tournament puts you both through the bracket. Two 30-second halves, golden goal if it is level.

Basketball Legends

The same studio's basketball game and the same key layout: arrows and X/Z against WASD and L/K, with a supershot bar that fills from touches. Matches are shorter and the dunk animation is worth the whole game.

Soccer Random and Basket Random

One key each — Up for player one, W for player two — and the rules change every point: a new ball, a new pitch, sometimes a new gravity. First to five, and almost every point is an accident.

Drunken Duel and Rooftop Snipers

Ragdoll duels with one or two keys per player. Drunken Duel is W against Up to fire a pistol while your body wobbles; Rooftop Snipers adds a jump key and the aim is to knock the other player off the roof five times.

Getaway Shootout and 12 MiniBattles

Getaway Shootout is a race to the extraction point where jumping is the only way to move — W/E and I/O — and the weapons are what you pick up on the way. 12 MiniBattles is twelve one-button games in a row, best of nine, and the fairest thing on this list because the controls are identical for both sides.

Fireboy & Watergirl and Two Neon Boxes

Co-op rather than versus: Fireboy on the arrows, Watergirl on WASD, and a temple full of switches that need both of you. Two Neon Boxes is the same idea in one screen — two boxes, two key sets, one exit.

Tic Tac Toe, Checkers and Chess

For the quiet end of the lesson. Tic Tac Toe and Checkers have a local two-player mode with the mouse; Master Chess has a Player vs Player option on the same screen with a clock.

Setting up a Chromebook for two

Click inside the game once so the keyboard goes to it, press the fullscreen button under the player, and turn off the trackpad's tap-to-click so a stray palm does not pause the match. If a key seems dead, it is usually because the browser still has focus on the page — one click on the pitch fixes it.
